At 9:00 am on
Monday morning, Point Lookout gathered to
celebrate Independence Day with it's annual 4th of July
parade.
This year the town was a buzz as New York
State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean G. Skelos (R-Rockville
Centre), Senator Alfonse D'Amato, and Govenor George
Pataki and his wife Libby and others walked the parade route
shaking hands and greeting the many Point residents who came out
to celebrate.
The Civic Association, Chamber
of Commerce, Bridge Biddies the Fishing Club and many of our
neighboring towns clubs & fire departments participated. The
highlight of course were the tons of Point kids on
decorated bikes who all happily took part in the festivities.
