Save Point Lookout's Beaches...
What you can do...

Contributed by Gerry (Yo) Ott

Every visitor will notice the abject erosion that has occurred at Point Lookout Civic Beach. Your beach and the beaches to our west are now facing irreversible damage. They are in dire need of nourishment and rehabilitation. In addition, and as an immediate result of this, our community also requires significant storm protection. This is what you can do and you must:

  • Read the copies of the Point Lookout Civic Association’s original ("lead") letters written to Congressman Peter King and Senator Dean Skelos. They disclose the Civic Association's requests and intentions.
  • Download the two unfinished (residents') letters to King and Skelos.
  • Complete them by printing your name, address and the current date at the top; then sign them at the bottom.
  • Mail each letter to its designated representative.
  • Give copies of unfinished letters to your neighbors and friends and have them do the same.
Don’t wait. Act NOW!
