Day I, 2003 – Beach, Ball Field & Cove Clean up:
Having been rained out the day before, the Point Lookout Civic
Association met at 9:00 am at the “Beach Shack” on Sun.,
4/27/03. In terms of past Earth Days, it was a modest showing;
however, as far as “rainout rebounds” go, it was a very good
showing. We had 16 official “sign-ins” and probably 20 or
more showed-up overall. Debbie Amen and Barbara Wengler mustered
Girl Scout Troop 2352 into service. They made a big showing and
a likewise contribution. Thank you ladies one and all!
Civic
Beach
was policed for an hour.
Although remarkably clean at the start, including discarded X-mas
trees, we still managed to fill an entire dumpster. We then
policed the ball field and cove area for almost another hour and
managed to fill half a dumpster there.
Earth
Day II, 2003 – A Clean Sweep
is scheduled for
9:00 am
, Saturday, July 19th ,
commencing at the ball field.
