Little Bit of Walk Raises Little Bit of Money
Contributed by Glen Wondsel

On Sunday, April 14th, the fourth annual "Little Bit of a Walk" took another stride towards helping families with children with cancer. The walk raises money for "Making Headway," A family support group that helps the families of Brain Cancer Patients. Elizabeth Ryan lost her battle to the decease. With the help of her family, the walk continues the ongoing need to raise funds to support victims and their families when they need the support the most.

Diane Ryan, Elizabeth's mother, could not imagine how successful this years walk would be. "We gave away all the shirts, and there were about 600 of them" Diane Ryan said. "I still don't believe we raised over 20,500 dollars on this walk!". The Ryans had some help in this success. This year the walk was able to raffle off autographed memorabilia from local sports teams.

Many thanks From the Ryan family to the organizers and workers who volunteered their time to this event, O.L.M.M. Church and Long Beach Catholic School, not to mention all the runners and walkers who braved the 78 degree heat.
